The Space Science Institute (SSI) is a nationally recognized center of excellence for the integration of scientific research, education and public outreach programs in the space and earth sciences.

Founded in 1992 by Dr. Paul Dusenbery, the Space Science Institute is unique among scientific research institutions in America. SSI is dedicated to the space and earth science research community involvement in K-12 education and public outreach programs.
