The Space Weather Center is a collaborative effort between educators and scientists. Such partnerships are essential for providing high quality exhibits which accurately communicate current scientific research to the general public.

The exhibit has been developed in partnership between the Space Science Institute and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), a leader in developing and managing space missions to study Sun-Earth connections. The project is funded by NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the following missions currently studying Sun-Earth connections:

  • the Solar Heleospheric Observatory (SOHO),
  • the high Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI),
  • the Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration (IMAGE),
  • the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE),
  • and the International Solar Terrestrial Physics program (ISTP), an International collaborative effort involving missions, ground-based observations, and simulations.
